You have two no-fee options. One: we reschedule your booking to any date within the next 60 days at the same price, even if rates have changed. Two: full refund to the original payment method within 3 working days. This applies to T8 or higher, Black Rainstorm, or any Hong Kong Observatory warning that forces Star House to close. You'll get a WhatsApp and email from Horace the moment we know the building is closing — no need to chase us. This policy is written into every confirmation email so you can forward it to your team without looking it up.

I run freelance workshops and don't have a BR (Business Registration) number. Can I book and get a receipt usable for Inland Revenue deductions?

Yes — we book individuals all the time. No company, no BR number needed. On the details step, just leave the company field blank and enter your HKID name. We issue an official receipt in your personal name with our BR, contact, address and payment date, which is accepted by the Inland Revenue Department for self-employed expense claims. If you later register a company and want past receipts reissued in the company name, email Horace with the booking reference and we'll reissue free of charge within 3 working days.

I booked a 1-hour interview slot but my candidate is stuck on the Tsuen Wan Line. If she's 15 minutes late, do I get those 15 minutes back or lose them?

If the next slot is free, we'll extend your booking automatically — just message Horace on WhatsApp (+852 4423 7445) with your reference and we'll confirm within 5 minutes. If the next slot is booked, we can't run over, but you get a 15% credit off your next booking as a goodwill gesture. To avoid this, check the live availability on /#/book before you walk in — if the next 30 minutes is green, you're safe to extend. MTR Exit L6 is a 2-minute covered walk, so most delays are Line-disruption not last-mile.

My team has halal-only dietary requirements. Your catering vendors don't appear to be halal-certified. Can I bring catering from Islamic Centre Canteen?

Yes, absolutely — bring your own. We have no in-room catering monopoly. Islamic Centre Canteen on Oi Kwan Road (Wan Chai) delivers by Foodpanda or their own driver direct to Rm 533B. Just give reception at the Star House lobby the booking reference and they'll send the courier up. We provide plates, cups, napkins and a water dispenser at no extra charge. No cooking is allowed in the room (fire code), but warm food from outside is fine. If you want us to arrange halal catering from a vetted vendor for future bookings, message Horace and we'll add one to our supplier list.

I'm running a 3-hour webinar to 120 remote attendees. Laptop built-in mic won't cut it. What audio does the room provide and how does it connect?

Add the 'Pro audio kit' (HK$300) on Step 2 of booking. It includes: one Shure SM58 wired handheld mic, one RODE lavalier, a small Yamaha mixer with USB-C output to your laptop — Zoom picks it up as an external audio device automatically. Works on macOS, Windows and iPads. We also lend a Logitech MeetUp webcam with 4-mic array if you prefer an all-in-one unit for hybrid sessions. Yes — and thank you for the work you do. Section 88 NGOs get a 20% discount on series of 4+ sessions (auto-applied on the payment step when you pick 'NGO / Charity' from the Referral dropdown and upload your IRD Section 88 letter). We issue one consolidated invoice covering all 8 dates, payable by bank transfer in 1 tranche or 2 tranches (50% upfront, 50% mid-series). Once confirmed, the 8 slots are locked — no other client can book over them. Date changes are free up to 7 days before each session. Is the venue hire tax-deductible for my Hong Kong company?

Yes — venue hire incurred wholly, exclusively and in the production of assessable profits is deductible under s.16(1) of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112). We issue a BR-compliant invoice and paid receipt in your company's name; bank-transfer confirmation + meeting purpose + attendee list complete the supporting evidence. Ledger mapping is typically 6420 Training & Development — External venue hire, 6440 Meetings & Conferences, 6450 Client Entertainment or 6460 Professional Development. How do you handle attendee personal data under the HK PDPO?

We collect only the booking contact's name, email, phone and company — no attendee lists are required or stored. All booking data is held on servers controlled by Easy Solution (HK) Limited and is retained for seven years to satisfy IRO record-keeping, then purged. No third-party marketing transfer, no cross-border transfer outside HK SAR. Data access and correction requests under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) should be addressed to management@easysolutionhk.com and are processed within 40 days as required by DPP6.

Is the training room wheelchair-accessible?

Yes. Star House has a level lobby entrance from Salisbury Road, a step-free service lift to the 5th floor, and the corridor to Rm 533B is 1.2 m wide. The entry door clears 850 mm. The accessible washroom is 12 m away on the same floor. Can I book after midnight or for a 24-hour session?

Star House is a commercial tower with access restricted 00:00–07:00 except by pre-arranged security clearance with the building management. We can accommodate evening sessions up to 23:00 at the evening rate, and early-morning starts from 07:30. For overnight events (film wraps, hack-a-thons, international-call bridging), we require 72-hour notice, an after-hours building-access fee of HK$600 and written confirmation from the building security desk — Horace will arrange and confirm by email.

Do you accept Octopus, FPS or credit cards?

Yes — we accept Faster Payment System (FPS) to +852 4423 7445 (payee: FU KA HO), PayMe to the same number, Bank of Dongguan transfer to A/C 2000001731 (bank code 398, SWIFT GUATHKHH), and Octopus tap-to-pay on-site up to HK$3,000 per transaction. FPS is our primary recommended method — it is free, instant, and works from every Hong Kong bank app. Cash is accepted for walk-in same-day bookings. Yes. Easy Solution (HK) Limited carries HK$10,000,000 public-liability cover with AIG Hong Kong, policy renewed annually each April. For CPD-accredited sessions (HK Medical Council, HK Law Society, HKICPA, SFC CPT), we will provide a stamped certificate of insurance naming your organising body as an interested party at no additional cost — email management@easysolutionhk.com quoting your booking reference and the accrediting body, and the certificate arrives within one business day.

Is the venue LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse friendly?

Yes — Easy Solution (HK) Limited welcomes all attendees regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation or expression. The 5/F washrooms at Star House are single-occupancy and unisex-friendly. We are a Pink Alliance HK-listed venue and have hosted Pink Dot, community workshops and queer professional meetups. Organisers may request a gender-neutral signage kit for the door at no extra cost.

Can parents bring infants or young children to a session?

Yes. The accessible washroom on 5/F has a baby-changing station. For attendees bringing infants, we can provide a rocker and a feeding-chair corner on request at no charge. Quiet breastfeeding can be accommodated in the adjacent Rm 533B (when unbooked) — please mention in the booking comments and Horace will confirm availability. Is parking available and can you validate?

Star House has 48 paid parking bays in the basement car park (entrance from Canton Road, 24/7, HK$32/hour). The Harbour City car park next door offers 2-hour validation with a HK$250 spend at mall merchants. Easy Solution does not operate a validation arrangement, but the nearest Green Minibus GMB 1 and the MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Exit L6 (2-minute walk) make transit the faster and cheaper option for most attendees.

Can you provide a bilingual host or Mandarin-speaking on-site contact?

Horace (primary contact) operates in English and Cantonese. For Mandarin-Chinese or Putonghua-speaking attendees, we can arrange for a Mandarin-speaking host from our partner co-working network to meet your delegation at the MTR exit or Star House lobby at HK$400 per two-hour slot. Written materials (door signage, WiFi card, feedback form) are available bilingually (EN + Traditional Chinese) on request at no additional charge.

Can you accommodate a group of 30+ people?

Rm 533B is rated for 20 seated in a classroom layout or 30 in a theatre layout. For 30+ attendees, we arrange a combined booking with the adjacent Rm 533B (30-seat classroom or 40-seat theatre) — this requires 7 days advance notice and an on-site A/V technician (HK$500 for the session). The combined room shares a retractable partition, so the format flexes between one large session and two breakout rooms. Catering partners can deliver for 30+ to the 5/F service lift (allow 45 minutes).

Is the training room wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The route from MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Exit L6 to our door is step-free: flat pavement, dropped kerbs, step-free entry into Star House, two wheelchair-accessible lifts to the 5th floor, and no internal steps in the classroom. Door clear opening is 81 cm. An accessible washroom is on the same floor, 30 m along the corridor.

Do you have a hearing loop or assistive listening?

Yes. A portable induction loop is available at no extra charge with 24 hours' notice. The room also includes wireless handheld mics, a captioning-compatible projector (for live-captioned sessions via Zoom / Teams / Google Meet), and we can dim the lights for screen-reader / captioning comfort.

Can a wheelchair user use the tables and AV?

Yes. The tables are height-adjustable and we set one station at 73 cm clearance by default on request. The lectern mic, projector remote, and lighting controls are all within seated reach. The whiteboard height is adjustable. If you tell us in the booking notes, we will set this up before you arrive at no charge.

Do you charge extra for a companion, personal assistant or support worker?

No. A companion, personal assistant, sign-language interpreter or support worker attends free of charge — they do not count against your seat limit and do not need a separate ticket. Please mention this in your booking notes so we have a chair and water ready.

Are service animals and guide dogs welcome?

Yes. We can switch off overhead fluorescents and run on dimmable LED-only lighting, close blinds, disable automated door chimes, and operate a fragrance-free policy (no air freshener, no scented cleaners). Tell us in the booking notes and we will confirm the set-up before you arrive.

What if an accessibility need comes up after I have booked?

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel 7+ days before start: 100% refund, no admin fee. Cancel 2–7 days ahead: 50% refund, OR one free reschedule within 90 days (your choice). Cancel under 48 hours: no cash refund, but one reschedule within 60 days is available for a HKD 200 handling fee. Unpaid holds can be cancelled free of charge at any time. If Typhoon Signal 8+ or Black Rainstorm is hoisted during your booking window, or if MTR Tsuen Wan Line suspends service to Tsim Sha Tsui, you get a full refund OR free reschedule (your choice). Can we run the event past 23:00?

Where can attendees park?

Star House (the building itself) has an on-site paid car park. Harbour City Ocean Terminal car park is about 5 minutes away. For most attendees the MTR (2-minute walk from Tsim Sha Tsui Exit L6) is fastest.

Do you take a deposit?

No deposit. Card payments are full-amount at booking and confirm the slot instantly. FPS and PayMe are also full-amount at booking; the transfer itself settles in seconds and we verify and confirm within about 30 minutes during venue hours (daily 09:00–23:00 HKT); overnight payments are confirmed by 09:30 HKT next morning. HK bank transfer holds the slot for 2 hours while the transfer clears — card is the fastest path to a locked-in slot.

Do you charge overtime if my session runs over?

Yes — HKD 400 per hour, billed in 30-minute blocks (HKD 200) after the first 10 minutes. We flag it to you on WhatsApp at the 5-minute mark so there are no surprises. Overtime is only available if no booking follows yours, so long sessions should book the next block up-front to be safe. Total after-hours extension is capped at HKD 1,200 per session and only up to 22:00.

Are public holidays or Sundays surcharged?

Sundays and HK public holidays are priced as weekends: +25% on the listed rate. Typhoon 8+ and Black Rainstorm days: we do not open — existing bookings are refunded in full or rescheduled free of charge within 60 days, your choice. Chinese New Year (CNY1-3) and Christmas Day: closed. All other holidays we are open normal hours with the weekend surcharge.

Is HK profits tax or GST/VAT added to the invoice?

Hong Kong has no GST, VAT or sales tax, so the price you see is the price you pay. The invoice is issued by Easy Solution (HK) Limited (BR 68468987-000-11-25-3) and is fully deductible as a business expense for HK profits tax. If your finance team needs a specific format (stamped copy, PDF with PO number, or Chinese/bilingual version), email management@easysolutionhk.com within 3 days and we reissue at no charge.

Can I get a written quotation before paying?

Yes. Use the 'Request a quote' button on /contact or email management@easysolutionhk.com with your date, duration, head-count and any extras. We reply with a PDF quotation on letterhead within 1 business hour (usually under 15 minutes on WhatsApp). The quote holds the indicative price for 48 hours — it does not hold the slot, so book early if the date is tight.

Is smoking or vaping allowed?

No. The room, lift lobby, corridors and common areas of Star House are 100% smoke-free and vape-free under HK Smoking Ordinance (Cap. 371). The nearest designated smoking area is outside on Canton Road near the Heritage 1881 colonnade, about 2 minutes on foot. We will politely remind attendees at the door.

Can I bring children or host a kids' event?

Yes. Children are welcome with adult supervision. We lock sharp corners on whiteboard stands, swap the coffee table for a softer footstool set on request, and the accessible washroom on the same floor has a baby-change surface. Minimum supervision ratio: 1 adult per 6 children under 12. Please mention age range in the booking notes — we will brief the building concierge so they are not surprised.

Is the venue insured? Do I need my own public-liability insurance?

Yes — Easy Solution (HK) Limited holds HKD 50 million public-liability insurance covering bodily injury and property damage in the venue. For most corporate trainings, seminars and interviews this is sufficient. If your event involves physical activity (dance, martial arts, fitness workshops) or serves alcohol, we ask you to carry your own event-specific public-liability cover and name us as additional insured — no extra charge from us, just forward the certificate before the event.

Can I record audio or video in the room?

Yes — both audio and video recording are permitted. The ceiling-mounted recording microphone covers classroom layouts up to 20 seats, and the projector has a dedicated HDMI-out for capture cards. You are responsible for obtaining consent from attendees under the HK Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance — we can provide a one-page PDPO attendee-consent template on request. No covert recording.

What food and drink rules apply?

Closed-lid drinks and dry snacks (biscuits, sandwiches, fruit) are fine — included, no cleaning fee. Hot catering, rice boxes and hot pots need 24 h notice so we can put down floor protection (HKD 100 cleaning deposit refunded if no spills). Alcohol is allowed with our written approval and a list of licensed caterers — we do not take a corkage charge. No strong odours (durian, stinky tofu) out of respect for the shared building ventilation.

Is there a dress code or attendee-conduct rule?

No specific dress code — the room is a neutral business space. We ask organisers to keep noise to normal training-room levels (under 75 dB) out of respect for neighbouring offices. We reserve the right to end a booking without refund for behaviour that endangers safety, damages the room, or violates HK law.

Can my attendees arrive earlier than 15 minutes before start?

Attendees can wait in the 5/F common lobby from the time the building opens (08:00 Mon-Sat, 09:00 Sun/PH). The room itself is unlocked 15 minutes before your booked start time. If you need earlier room access for set-up, book from the earlier hour or add an early-access block (HKD 200 per 30 minutes) in the booking notes.

What do I do if I am running late?

WhatsApp +852 4423 7445 as soon as you know — we will unlock the room for your attendees, sign them in at reception and start the coffee for you. We hold your booking for the full paid duration (i.e. late arrival does not extend the end time). If you are more than 60 minutes late with no contact, we treat the slot as a no-show and release the room — reschedule fee HKD 200.
